The bristles are made of recyclable nylon, which consists of 63% plant-based materials, so they are not fully biodegradable. Once pulled out of the bamboo handle, you can toss them into the recycling bin, along with other recyclable nylon materials.

Do I have to remove the paint on the bamboo handle before composting?

Good news! The resin paint is a plant-based pigment, so you won’t need to remove it before composting. It is biodegradable and compostable, just like the bamboo handle.
