It also has a preference for free-draining soil. Water once a week and spritz it with water every now and again to give it a more humid environment. In the warmer months, you should water your Anthurium twice a week. One quarter strength fertilizer with a high phosphorus number every four months will get you the best blooms.
Anthurium dislikes direct sunlight. If placed in direct sunlight the leaves of Anthurium begin to burn. It is also susceptible to root rot, so you should avoid overwatering.
