Bioitalia’s Cannellini Beans have an earthy, nutty flavour and tender, creamy flesh. With 4.5g protein, 5.2g fibre, 2.4mg iron and just 0.4g fat per 100g, these are a really nutritious staple to add to any recipe. These versatile beans also come ready cooked with no added salt or preservatives, so they’re ready for use as soon as you’ve drained them!

These beans make a great addition to vegetable soups, curries, stews or salads, as their flavour pairs well with most seasonings (but especially with spicy tomato dishes!).

Here at PlantX we particularly love using these to create a hearty mashed potato alternative. Simply heat a little oil and seasoning in a pan, and then pour in the whole tin of beans with a little of the water from inside. Heat the beans through with a little added lemon juice and mash them with the back of a spoon for a quick, protein packed accompaniment to any meal. 

These beans are very low in fat already, but their creamy texture also means that no butter or cream are required to create this silky mash. We think this is the perfect match for vegan sausages, steamed kale and gravy when the weather turns colder. Quick and easy comfort food that’s full of goodness!
