Due to the natural fermentation process, most Kombucha contains small amounts of alcohol. However, Brew Dr. extracts alcohol from all of its products to ensure that each beverage can be enjoyed by people of all ages! The extracted alcohol is recycled and used for biofuel and hand sanitizer.

Kombucha is a type of black, green or white tea fermented with cane sugar and live cultures to create a sharp, fizzy beverage. It is said to have originated in China back in 220 B.C. but is now enjoyed all over the world.

What is the story behind Brew Dr.?

It all started in 2006 when Matt Thomas opened Townshend’s Tea Company in Portland, Oregon and began brewing organic, loose-leaf tea. In 2008, Matt brewed his first-ever raw Kombucha, before moving out of the teahouse and into the company’s first brewery in Southeast Portland in 2010. Since then, the company has rebranded as Brew Dr. and now boasts a fantastic range of Kombuchas and teas. 

Brew Dr. is also part of the 1% for the planet. This means that for every bottle of Love Kombucha sold, 1% of the revenue goes to non-profit organizations aimed at tackling environmental issues!
