Do Bob’s Red Mill Gluten-Free Baking Mixes come with vegan-friendly instructions? 

While all Bob’s Red Mill Gluten-Free Baking Mixes are 100% vegan, the instructions on the back of the packaging do feature animal-based ingredients such as eggs or butter. However, Bob’s Red Mill offers plenty of suggestions for vegan alternatives that will work well as cruelty-free substitutes for all of its Baking Mixes. 

In place of eggs, it recommends using chia seed or flaxseed eggs, applesauce, or egg alternatives you can find on PlantX. Cow’s milk can be substituted for your favourite non-dairy milk (simply add a spoonful of lime juice or apple cider vinegar to make buttermilk). Butter can be replaced with your favourite non-dairy butter or spread, coconut oil, or mashed avocado.
