Sunflower Seeds

Elan’s Organic Raw Sunflower Seeds have a soft texture and subtle nutty flavour. They are a great source of both iron and fibre and make a delicious addition to many vegan meals.

How do I make toasted pumpkin and sunflower seeds?

To roast 2 cups of seeds you will need to mix the seeds with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. There are a variety of seasoning combinations you can try out. For example:

To make lime and chilli seeds, add 2 tablespoons of fresh lime juice, 1 ½ teaspoon curry powder, ½ teaspoon ground coriander, and a pinch of salt to the mix. 

To make ginger-soy seeds, add 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 teaspoons granulated sugar, and 1 ½ teaspoon ground ginger to the mix. 

To make sweet and salty seeds, add 2 tablespoons of pure maple syrup, 1.5 teaspoons chilli powder, and 1/2 teaspoon fine salt to the mix. 

Once you have coated the seeds evenly in the mix, spread the seeds across a baking sheet, then place them in the oven at 300°F. Bake for 10 minutes, flip the seeds over, then return them to the oven for another 10 minutes so they are evenly toasted.
